A hand made out of ice
by sabsi

We recently went to the Ice Sculpture festival in Brugge. It's very impressing. There are hundreds of statues, buildings, little details carved out of ice and snow. This winter (2003/2004) the theme for the festival was Greece so there were lots of heroes and temples here. They even got an ice bar like the one you know from the ice hotels.

The temperature in the tent the festival takes place in is -5?C. Which doesn't sound too cold but wait until you're in there for a while. It's freeeezing! But worth the pain ;)

The festival takes place every winter (around christmas time). It cost 9 Euro to visit in 2003.
