Oulu is situated at the mouth of Oulu River by the Gulf of Bothnia in northern Finland and is the sixth biggest city in Finland. The city was founded in 1605 by King Karl IX of Sweden. The name Oulu comes from the Sami word of floodwater. Most interesting is the huge park. It belongs to the university and contains world's northernmost botanical garden. There are also to glassy pyramids in the park, called "Romeo and Juliet ".
