"Racoons" Stanley Park Tip by joanj

Whilst at Prospect Point Lookout you will probably see a family of racoons.

They come up to the fence, and there is a sign do not feed, so take note. I do believe the rangers put down specialised pellets for them, as there were quite a lot for them to feed on, and of course it was not like human food.

Many people in a car were enticing them over the fence to eat fruit, dangerous with their teeth and claws, not to mention being run over. A ranger was alerted to this foolish behaviour but they did not take heed. (I must add they had a local licence plate on the car !!

They have really long claws, may be it is not so noticeable in my photograph.
