Apart from National Holidays there are other dates on which it might be possible to occur a local holiday. This is due to most localities and cities celebrating a saint, and the local feast usually represents a local holiday. Most local holidays and feasts celebrating saints and patrons occur during summer months, although this is not a "fixed" rule.

In Lisbon it is celebrated Santo António, so the local holiday is the 13th June. On the previous night (12th June) there are celebrations all over the city, usually with every place being crowded.

In Porto it is celebrated São João, so the local holiday is the 24th June. The previous night (23th) June is also celebrated all over the city.
