Gresham Palace, Budapest: 11 reviews and 23 photos

Also known today as Four Seasons hotel, it is one of Budapests most special and elegant neo-classic style buildings.
It was first built in 1827 and was called Nako House, in 1880 it became the possession of the Gresham Life Assurance Company that was a British company. In 1903 the company decided to rebuild the building and Nako House was demolished and the actual Palace was built instesd, after designs of Zsigmond Quittner. The palace used to be the home of soviet troops during WWII and it was a private apartment building during the communism and all that left it neglectecd and ruined. After the fall of the communism the Hungarian government transferred the ownership over the palace and in 1999 it was decided that the palace will locate the Four Seasons hotel in Budapest.
The palace situated i a lovely place, it is facing the amazing Chain bridge in the side of Pest. The building has amazing arcihtecture with wonderful sculptures on it, you can spend a few minouts just watching this beautiful work and enjoy of it... i never been inside but i guess that because its hotel it must have some cafes or restaurants.

Address: opposite to the Chain bridge
