"The slanted house" Top 5 Page for this destination Tartu Things to Do Tip by Vcela

Tartu Things to Do: 46 reviews and 50 photos

Located in the Town Hall Square, you might be forgiven for having to look twice at a strangely drunken looking building. Known locally as 'the slanted house', the building was once owned by the family of a Russian general named Barclay de Tolly (a monument to General Barclay de Tolly can be found near to Ulikooli street). The slant is due to some of the foundations having been built upon remnants of the old town wall. The building is now used as an Art gallery by the Tartu Art Museum.
