"Town Hall and Square" Top 5 Page for this destination Tartu Things to Do Tip by Vcela

Tartu Things to Do: 46 reviews and 50 photos

The focal point of the city and very hard to miss when visiting Tartu. The Town Hall impressively overlooks the square which is surrounded by small shops and buildings with interesting facades. The present Town Hall building is the third on this spot, having been built in the late 18th Century. The building is still used by local government. There is also a lovely fountain, entitled 'Kissing students', in front of the Town Hall adding to the Bohemian feel of the Square. The bottom of the square leads to a bridge crossing the river.
