According to an article in "Trade Only Today" as reported on TWGL website, "Pelican Marina owner Ervin Stahel decided not to continue selling gasoline and diesel fuel because it would be too expensive to fix storm damage and restart that part of the business". We were told when we were there at the beginning of November, that his takes had fuel but he had no way to get the fuel out of them and into the boat.
According to the same article, Lamb's Marina, which was counting on picking up that part of the business also has a problem: "..a leak detected in 2001 is holding up the renewal of an operating permit needed to have fuel delivered to the business, [said]Chrystal Bartlett from the Division of Waste Management"
That means that there is no fuel in the Elizabeth City area for boaters. S
So either fuel up in Norfolk or at the Alligator River Marina.
