"Botanical Gardens - The Palm House" Karlsruhe Off The Beaten Path Tip by aliante1981

Karlsruhe Off The Beaten Path: 75 reviews and 191 photos

The palm house, the highest of the three at 15 meters of height, houses numerous palm trees - a great place for me, because I simply love palms, especially in Europe and in moderate quantities :))) At a temperature of 15° C you find yourself in the temperate zone of vegetation. The impressive hemp palm, the only one to brave the outside air, that has been growing in the rose garden for many years, is almost up to the glass roof. Among the most interesting plants there are also the Howeia palm, the small date palm, and the dwarf palm. Quite impressive is the giant bamboo that can shoot up 40 cm per day during the growth phase. I wonder why they do not keep pandas :)))
