  Slave Cabins

Boone Hall is one of several plantations easily visited as a day trip from the city. It was built in the latter 18th Century during the period when Tobacco was the main crop cultivated. Cotton did not come into the picture until the first half of the 19th Century.
The rooms which are shown by costumed guides are decorated in period furnishings, many of which are original. In addition to the mansion, are the brick slave cabins on the grounds. Here, the slaves of the plantation lived when not working in the fields.
