  Inside a double decker bus
by SirRichard

Most foreigners use taxis to move around Mumbai. They are cheap, so why not?

But I wanted to taste local transport, so I decided to have a ride in one of those "british" double decker buses. The problem was that the destinations on the buses are written only in hindi, no western letters, so unless you ask and the driver is patient, you will never know where you are going...

BUT I did anyway, after all I had a free afternoon and the ticket was dirty cheap. So I stepped in, not knowing where I was going, and had a ride by unknown quarters of Mumbai for about an hour or so. When the bus reached its final destination, I payed again and did the return way till I reached the original stop again!

It was a nice experience, no tourists, just locals ;-))
