  Hard to find!

Fruits such as berries and apples are common and very tasty in the UK. On the downside, mangoes, avocadoes etc all have to be imported from North Africa and Spain, so have a tendency to be a little on the small and unripe side! The best (and cheapest) place to buy fruit and veggies is at markets, most towns have them on the High Street on set days of the week. In London, Spitalfields and Portobello Road are great for produce - even things like dates and shallots. The only thing I found hard to come by was a pumpkin! They don't eat them in the UK apparently! I eventually found one at a West Indian green grocers.
