"WINE; drinking it and getting it home" Italy Shopping Tip by nancy_1447

Italy Shopping: 80 reviews and 151 photos

Prices are fantasitc, wine is first class anywhere.

What to buy: If you want Chianti or Spumanti you need to buy it in the region it is produced in. Tuscan wine is sold in Tuscany, etc. We bought it in boxes of 3. The grocer put it in a cardboard box with handle for no extra charge, always buy more than you think you'll need, we dipped into some before we left. If you are purchasing at a wine shop ask the merchant to open it for you if you are going to have it with lunch. It was delicious, even the bottles for $6.00.
Pottery in Siena of course.
Shoes in Milan if you can stand the current style which may be strange. Cashmere and Linen in Milan at Outlet stores, very good price.
Spas-this is the country, anywhere you see the word "Terme" they are volcanic mineral waters, check it out.

What to pay: Wine can range from 4.50 to 50.00
pottery was 20.00 - unlimited.
Spas were $60 for a facial, $100 for massage and baths.

Address: Tuscan region
Directions: Wine was in town called Montepulciano, so was the spa. Pottery can be found on any street in Siena.
Theme: Food and Drink
