The Diamond Plaza is another large hotel in central Hat Yai which, like many, caters mainly to Chinese visitors from Malaysia. It looks quite grandiose in the entrance and is conveniently located for shopping and eating in the centre of town. There are around 300 rooms that are available with either one double bed or two single beds. The room rate, when I checked, was 990 Baht. The rooms have what you would expect for hotels in this price range - A/C, TV, minibar. The room decor is OK but the rooms have that stale smoke smell that many hotels in Asia have. There is no such thing here as a non-smoking room.

Unique Qualities: The hotel has a coffee shop and restaurant, unisex beauty salon, Chinese restaurant and an outdoor swimming pool on the 1st floor.
