Probably the most impressive Roman monument in all of Spain is the Aqueduct of Segovia. The superb structure was built nearly 2,000 years ago during the period of Emperor Domitian. It is a testiment to brillance of Roman architecture. The aqueduct was made without mortar and stands in two tiers 95 feet high at its highest point. It is over 800 metres long and consists of 118 arches in all. As you can see by this photograph, the aqueduct was being restored during my visit as pollution and traffic are beginning to take their tole on the structure.

Directions: Plaza de Azoguejo
