  This was NOT my car.

During my weeks vacation I rented a car from Avis that I picked up at Malaga airport. The roads to and around Marbella are in excellent shape. There is a toll road that goes paralell to N-340 which goes east/west. There is hardly any traffic on this toll road.

If you drive up the mountains towards Ronda you'll feel like you're in a car commersial, and the road winds back and forth constantly. This was great fun to drive with a stick shift.

The drive from Marbella to Sevilla takes about 2 1/2 hours and is very scenic as the landscape changes from mountains to rolling farmland. Even driving in Seville is not as bad as everyone says. But get a hotel with parking and walk around the town.
