Markets, Sydney: 45 reviews and 61 photos

It's your last couple of days in Australia, you're flying back home all too soon, you're mostly broke by now, and then it hits you - souvenirs!! Well, you're in luck. Paddy's Market is there to save your butt. Located on the ground floor of Market City, a big shopping complex on the edge of Sydney's Chinatown, Paddy's is a cornucopia of kiosks & booths with local vendors selling anything from souvenirs, trinkets, clothing, & gadgets to most anything else you might need. Prices tend to be much more reasonable than in a souvenir shop in the city, and you can always try your hand at bargaining with the sellers to get an even better deal. There's also a produce market adjacent to the booths, for all your fruit and vegetable buying needs. Up the escalators from Paddy's is a food court and a regular mall, full of the usual brand-name and boutique stores that you'll find at just about any other mall in the city.

What to buy: Souvenirs, trinkets, produce, you name it!

What to pay: Shop around different vendors before shelling out the $$. It's not unusual for some to have better prices than the competition for the same thing. Try to bargain with them, you might save some $$.

Directions: Haymarket, on the edge of Chinatown & Darling Harbour area.
