"The discover place" Machico Things to Do Tip by salinhopt

It is placed east of the bay of Machico the place where they had disembarked, in 1419, Tristao Vaz and Joao Goncalves Zarco, the discovers of the island. The boat tryed to land to make the recognition of the discovered place, they attemped to disembark first in the beach. Due to the dense forest they disembarked in a rock easily, for being a sheltered place.
