  the diner
by londonbabe

In central Soho, close to Oxford Street, this is London's only true BBQ restaurant, so far as I know.
Bodean's has two sections - the ground floor diner, whwre you order at the counter, and a downstairs restaurant with table service. Downstairs has a slightly larger menu and a wine list, but the food is pretty much the same.
So I recommend you go to the diner, which is less fuss, on Monday or Wednesday when they have pulled pork and burnt ends. Avoid Sundays when hey often have American football on VERY loud widescreen TV screens. Well, unless you like very loud American football - then this is the place for you!
The merlot by the glass is good; the range of beers is what you'd expect with Bud and Beck's featuring strongly, but I always go for the Snapple Iced Tea.

** LATEST INFO - a branch has just opened in Clapham, opposite Clapham Common tube station. **

Favorite Dish: Pulled pork - hot, sweet, chewy and tender at the same time. Yumm Yummm.

Address: Corner of Poland and D'Arblay Street
Price Comparison: less expensive than average
Directions: From Oxford Cirus tube, head east till you get to the right hand turn which is Poland Street. Then just head south to the intersection with D'Arblay Street and Bodean's is on the corner.
