This is Australias most famous man-made structure. The Sydney Opera House with its unique architecture was created to resemble the sails of a great sailing vessel. Built in the 1960s and designed by a Dutch Architect, it is the citys most recognizable landmark. It is situated on the harbor adjacent to a pleasant park. The Opera House is where concerts and other artistic events are held annually.
Directions: South Quay of Sydney Harbor.
