Notting Hill is full of pretentious bars with overpriced drinks and underdressed girlies. If that's your sort of thing, great, if not, head for The Wine Factory. Excellent Italian food - calzone, mushroom risotto, mozzarella & avocado salad. Prices are reasonable - ?8 or so for a large pizza; ?10-12 for a meat or fish main course.

But the real selling point is the wine. The restaurant is part of the Brinkley's chain, which also includes a wine merchants. So, at this and the other restaurants in the chain (see the website below), the basic Pino Grigio (fresh and tasty) is about ?8 and the house champagne ?16 - unheard of in London!!
