The mosque is square and was constructed by the architect Youssef Boshna from Turkey. There are great quantities of alabaster (hence it also being known as the Alabaster Mosque) and the pulpit and the dekka are made of white marble. A large number of pendant glass and crystal lamps form circles of lighting inside the mosque.
