"Right on the riverbank" River-Star Hotel Tip by pmarshuk

Ended up staying here after the place I originally wanted to stay was full.
It's on Sisowath Quay and my room on the first floor had a small balcony and huge windows with great views over the Esplanade and theTonle Sap. Although it was quite expensive at USD23 per night it was worth it for the size of the room and bathroom and the location. Some Canadian friends who arrived with me got a double room with side views of the river for USD18.

The one possible downside was that the owner was very pushy about providing all the other services of the hotel (meals, bar, taxis etc). - but I got the impression that he hadn't been open for long so was still trying to establish himself.

Address: On Sisowath Quay towards the speedboat terminal.
