The Loire Valley is famous for its wine and its chateaux. The Chateaux are fabulous, steeped in history. along these halls the ghosts of valois kings, their queens and mistresses may wander. Due to their interest in Art, many notables from the rennaissance also graced these halls, including Leonardo Da Vinci, who spent his final years here, in Amboise.
THe Chateau pictured is Chenonceau. Henry II gave it his mistress, Diane De Poitiers. On his death, his widow (Catherine De Medici) confiscated it.
