Akhmal (sp?): "Delicious Indian/Pakistani food near Hauptbahnof" Frankfurt am Main Restaurant Tip by WingFoot

Frankfurt am Main Restaurants: 288 reviews and 270 photos

Akhmal (I am not sure about the spelling) is a stand-at-the-counter type fast-food restaurant that serves delicious Indian and Pakistani food. Freshly made Indian sweets and snacks are also sold as take-aways. At lunch time there is a crowd of Indo-Pak locals wolfing down chicken or goat curry with hot naans/rotis. Quite a change from otherwise bland alternatives.

Favorite Dish: Daal (it is a delicious blend of various lentils and beans slow-cooked in spices) with hot roti (Indian flat bread).

Address: On a side lane off to the right from Konigstrasse
Price Comparison: least expensive
Directions: Very close to the Hauptbahnof --- on the way to the Financial/Banking area. In a sleazy neighborhood. Closes at 7pm so either go for lunch or an early dinner.
Price: less than US$10
Rating: 5
Theme: Indian
