The Costiera Amalfitana has to be the most visited route in Campania and the tiny and very twisty roads were busy when we visited in October but with the wonderful views you get of the coast it is not hard to see why everyone has to go there.
Amalfi is the coast's largest town and it is worth stopping to wander through the little streets. There is a wonderful 10th century Duomo. The facade is actually 13th century. Remember though that the cathedral closing around the lunch time for a couple of hours and then you can only get into it by visiting (and paying the entrance fee of) the cathedral museum.
There are lovely restaunts around the town square and some lovely little shops. The town was a maritime power until it was subdued by King Roger of Naples in 1131. Remember though that Amalfi is very popular with tourist so it does get very busy and parking can be a problem.
