"So many beautiful fountains" Fontana delle Tartarughe – Turtle Fountain Tip by myrtle
Fontana delle Tartarughe – Turtle Fountain, Rome: 8 reviews and 12 photos
This is one that our tour guide took us to. He said it's his favorite fountain in Rome. We really liked his description of it. He said the fish are supposed to be dolphins because back then they didn't know what dolphins really looked like. Since dolphins are very fast fish, they respresent quickness. The turtles obviously represent slowness. So this fountain symbolizes balance of the man trying to slow down the dolphin & hurry along the turtle.
