PALAZZO CARDUCCI ARTENISIO merits to be remembered for several reasons. In the picture it is given preminence to the entrance which is in the inside court, enriched by a iron cantilever roof of exquisite drawing Liberty. But the palace, which has a surface of about 900 square metres, was built in the middle of the XVII century by Ludovico Carducci-Artenisio. For three centuries and a half it has belonged to the family and now it goes on being the home of the descendants. Numerous were also the modifications of the building. The front of today was made again in the eighteenth century .In the end of the last century also the access to the noble plan was transformed in liberty style. All over the place there are signs of the history of Carducci-Artenisio,who gave 14 mayors to Taranto. It is a Florentine family of whom we find traces since 1800. In Toscana many of theirs members were Gonfalonieri and Priori, but when the Medicis arrived, The Carduccis had to go into exile and one of the branches of their family settled in Taranto. Besides a collection of pictures of '6OO, '7OO,and '8OO,and a library of more than 6000 volumes, palace Carducci-Artenisio contains a hall of delegation of great beauty, decorated with lockets with the grotesque of the Fracanzano.
