The (Old) Cape Henry Lighthouse was erected in 1791 to replace inland fires lighted by the colonists. It marked the 14-mile entrance to the Chesapeake Bay for nearly a century. This tower is now open to the public to climb.

open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.--Nov. 1-March 15
10 a.m-5 p.m.--March 16-Oct. 31
Closed Thanksgiving Day and Dec. 5-Jan. 4
Admission: Adults $2.00 and Children 6-18 $1.00

The New Cape Henry Lighthouse was founded in 1881to replaced the Old Cape Henry Lighthouse. This is located on the active United States Coast Guard Station.

Directions: At the north end of Atlantic Ave. on Fort Story.
