St. Mary's Church is one of the great religious buildings in Poland. Originally built in the 15th century it was completely destroyed during World War II and subsequently rebuilt. The interior of the church is whitewash and therefore has a very austere feel to it.
The sad thing about this church for me was photographic it. From afar the church dominates the skyline of the Glowne Miasto (old town of Gdansk) but it is hard to capture a good shot of the place close up. The rain I was experiencing made the lighting difficult too.
