"Xel-Ha Natural Preserve" Mexico Things to Do Tip by spartan

Mexico Things to Do: 626 reviews and 826 photos

In the Cozumel/Cancún area, a trip to the : Xel-Ha Natural Preserve is a must!!! You can snorkel/scuba dive with the fish in a sheltered cove. We spent 4 hours there and it was great. It takes about 2 hours to get there from Cancún, but it's worth the trip (the Tulum ruins are about 20 minutes south of Xel-Ha). Xel-Ha is an extense natural formation, made up of a group of inlets, lagoons, sinks holes and caves, that are fed by a mixture of subterranean rivers and springs that make XEL-HA the worlds largest natural aquarium.

Address: Carretera Chetumal-Cancún km 240
Directions: 111 km.( 70 miles ) south of Cancún on the Mayan Riviera. You can rent a car, ride a bus or a taxi or contact a travel agency that includes the visit to this natural wonder.
