  I love cactuses
by rachel_sun

Favorite thing: Most of spains forests went years ago. They were replaced by wheat fields, vineyards, olive groves and fruit orchards. There is also huge bits of barren land where only cactuses will grow. The forests which are left are home to lots of animals and birds. There are around 360 or so native bird species. There are even brown bears and wovles in the mountains in the north west i doupt you will ever see them. You are more likely to see deer, wild boar in the oak, beech and ash trees.
You may also see birds of prey while hiking in the mountains.Spain has about 25 species of them.Red Kites, griffon vultures and the imperial eagle.

Fondest memory: A great place to bird watch is Southern Spain. The Sierra de Cazorla is a popular spot to bird watch.Another reason i love Spain is for the flora.Spain has over 8000 species of plants and most of these are in the mountains, alpine.Remember Spain also has some beautiful butterflies. My fav plants are palms and cactuses and banana trees.
