Organ Pipe cactus off of Ajo Mtn Drive
by mtncorg

A 21 mile drive on a good graded dirt road which makes a one-way loop through the Diablo Mountains to the base of the Ajo Mountains and Mt Ajo - 4808 ft/1466m, high point of the Park. The road goes up through open mountain desert landscapes offering expansive views far off into Mexico. As you gain elevation, the plant life changes ever so slightly. Stands of organ pipe cactus are seen on the way.
