Chinese New Year is a big day to locals. A nice Chinese New Year represents a good start of the whole year. Because of this belief, many celebrations can be found in Hong Kong during the period (normally the first three days) of Chinese New Year.

For example, Hong Kong Tourist Association organizes a parade starting from Tamer Site in Admiralty through Convention Avenue to Wan Chai on the new year day every year. The parade usually comprises around 40 teams of people from different countries/organizations in their specially designed parade vehicles. It's really interesting to see such a big show on the street in the day time.

More importantly, if you don't need a seat, you can watch the show FREE!!!! The best location is along Convention Avenue. Remember to go there earlier in order to find a better location!

Address: Wan Chai, Hongkong Island
