"The Nutt Historic Hotel " Top 5 Page for this destination Granbury Things to Do Tip by keeweechic

Granbury Things to Do: 59 reviews and 77 photos

Two blind brothers (Jesse and Jacob Nutt) had a small mercantile business in Granbury, their younger brother Jake acted as their eyes. In 1893 David Lee Nutt and his wife built this lovely hand-hewn stone building on the old site of the mercantile store which was constructed on logs. The house also doubled as a hotel for suppliers of the Nutts as there was little lodging around Granbury at the time.

In 1968 the Texas State Historical Society awarded the Nutt House its medallion, naming it a historical and cultural landmark.
