I didn't have time to go to any of the shops, but one of the Brazilians recommended to me the artist John Somers, at Av. Leite de Castro, 1150, telephone 3371-8000. Apparently, on certain weekdays it is possible to visit the production area as well as a museum of tin production.

I understand that there are also some good stores for buying a number of articles on Avenida 31 de Março.

I purchased my articles in the hotel, where there was a small shop. This is probably not the most economical way to go, but even so, the articles were only R$5 each.
