Tatra Inn-CLOSED, Chicago: 2 reviews and 1 photos
November 2006 update, read on Chowhound that this location is closed but that they were looking for another location
We went here with some VT friends on Saturday 10/25/03. Our dining experience started with a choice of soup (mushroom or chicken noodle) and a choice of several appetizers, among them fried shrimp or a New York Strip steak (very huge portions!). Then it is on to the buffet which is filled with everything from salads to pierogi to carved meat.
The lady at the buffet line carving the meat encourages you to try a little of everything, be careful though, the food is very, very filling and it is easy to pile way too much on your plate.
Thanks to fellow VTer rmdw for introducing us to this one!
Favorite Dish: In addition to the tasty meat pierogis on the buffet, they also served us fresh made to order pierogis, we tried the cheese, potato and sauerkraut. The turkey schnitzel was good as was the potato pancake (with a little apple sauce and sour cream).
The blueberry blintz for dessert was quite good. I didn't have any room left to try anything else but there were several other dessert choices.
