  Carroll County courthouse
by mrclay2000

Not as impressive or prominent as the one in Fayetteville nor as old as the one in Van Buren, the Carroll County Courthouse is a sublime representative of this frontier Mecca. Built in the late 19th century and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the clocktower still tells the hour but casts no shadow on the historical facades on the hillsides above. Limited parking is available here off-hours.

Address: lower Main Street
Directions: one of the first and tallest buildings in town once you enter the Historic District
