In Batumi I stayed at Hotel Sputnik. It is not in the centre of town, but on a hill outside. It is highly recomended though and it easy to take the marshrutka 126from just outside the hotel to the town. If you have been doing a lot of sight-seeing and been staying at very cheap places for some weeks it is also nice just to stay at the hotel or in the suroundings. The rooms are clean with spotless bathrooms, a balkony and TV. I didn't bother to go out to see the sunset over the Black Sea as I was comfortably lying on my bed watching the BBC news.
The hotel is situated on a green hill and in the end of June there was a lot of Horthensias blooming.
The service is excellent. I asked for the address to a doctor (for my cough) and they took me for free in the hotel car to the doctor (5 lari) and to two different pharmacys (medicine 3,55 lari).
Where the marshruthas stop there is a small store selling water, snacks etc.
There is also a restaurant. The khachapuri I couldn't eat I got in a doggy-bag to eat later.
I can't remember the price but it was not too expensive.
