Hualien has upgraded the beach front bike trail. The new trail now connects Nanbin Park up through the Port area and up as far as Chishingtan beach. The trail is about 25 KM's round trip with nice scenery almost all along the way.

(save the one putrid garbage dump that you must pass. Best to hold your nose on this stretch...)
