Resurrection Gate at Night

Once dusk falls, Red Square is also worth wandering through, as atmospheric lighting has been set on several of the historical sights inside. This is the Resurrection Gate, a 1995 copy of the 1680 original. Although beautiful during the day (the mosaics on the south side of the gate are especially nice), it's a must-see in the evening as well.

Also located inside the Red Square, the Kazan Cathedral's colours are muted by nighttime lighting. . .the pink and white made much softer and more romantic.

There were people wandering in the area as late as we were there (which admittedly wasn't much past midnight); it always felt safe.
