Hoi An has many interesting and well preserved ancient lodgings, all decorated in chinese style, in which you feel transported to ancient times, when the emeperors ruled...

There are some "high level" ones, as Vinh Hung, where a room costs 60 USD and more, but I prefered the little family run pensions, much more charming, though maybe not as comfortable for wester standards.

The one I visited (see pic) was called Minh A, it was a little 2 storey old house. In the 1st floor there were the beds, separated by wood panels, with a shared WC.
In the basement was the lobby, beautifully decorated and a small patio with bird cages.
