The Botafumeiro is a big censer inside the Cathedral that is used every day of Holy years.

Holy years are: 1993 1999 2004

The rest of the years they only make it work if there's a group of tourists that gives a "donative" to see it in action (folks, money runs everything). I had the opportunity to see it working because that day the Education and Culture Ministress was in the Cathedral.

So I was a lucky boy. It smells good!

Funny anecdote:
In the medieval times the Botafumeiro was used to perfume the cathedral because pilgrims stunk!! So now they are telling you: you are a pig!

Address: Inside the Cathedral
