Frenchy's Bistro: "Among the Best Restaurants in Long Beach" Long Beach Restaurant Tip by experienceLA

Long Beach Restaurants: 141 reviews and 176 photos

This is among the best bistro style French restaurants in Southern California. Due to being in Zagat's Guide, people actually drive from West Los Angeles and Orange County to eat here. Because it is in an area that one would not expect to find a restaurant of this quality, the prices are significantly less than if the restaurant was in other trendier areas.

Adres Angles (owner and chef) and his wife Valerie will make you feel warm and welcome at their restaurant. The staff is also very knowledgeable and friendly. The restaurant also features a wine bar in the rear and there are appetizers available at the wine bar. The dessert chef also makes some incredible desserts.

At first glance, one is surprised to find the number of interesing restaurants within a few blocks of Frenchy's Bistro. During lunch time one can usually see quite a number of faculty from nearby Cal State University Long Beach. Frenchy's Bistro also owns the restaurant next door, Zanzibar Bar and Grill, which is one of the best bargains in Long Beach.

Favorite Dish: Everything on the regular menu is fabulous. Thus, one has to come back for multiple visits. Menu can change depending upon the seasons.

In addition to the regular menu, Frenchy's Bistro has a number of wine dinners in conjunction with The Wine Country. This provides an opportunity of serving food items that aren't on the menu. The New Year's Eve dinner is also worth every penny.
