Some inns will not take you if you are not Japanese others are fine. No english was spoken at the one I went to but my basic japanese was fine. Don't be put off as they hand you an info sheet in English with Bath times. Note some rooms have no baths as you would tend to use the public ones. Again this is fun, so don't be put off. Male and female are separated and the fuss about washing before going into the bath is not a big deal. All instructions are on the sheet they hand you.

Unique Qualities: Being woken up in the moring by a loud 'ohayo gosaimasu!!!' and rolling off your futon half asleep is not funny. Once you let the lady in (still half asleep), your futon is folded away and tea is served. Moments later a massive japanese brekfast is served in front of you. No chance of a lie in here.

Price Comparison: more expensive than average
Price: US$40-80
Theme: Inn

Review Helpfulness: 2.5 out of 5 stars
