Lombard Street is only accessable by car in a downward direction (one-way) and as you can see is very curvy. We drove down it many a time just to enjoy the street we had seen in films many times.
Lombard Street is situated in an area called Russian Hill. It is a very expensive area to live. Apparently Lombard Street did not used to be curvy but a straight street but the incline was so steep that it was difficult for cars to manage. In 1922 the curves were added. It has ten turns and is the worlds 'crookedest street'.

Address: Lombard Street. Descent begins at Hyde Street.
Directions: Russian Hill
