Barbican, Krakow: 48 reviews and 79 photos

The Barbican, one of the finest European monuments of medieval architecture, was built from 1498 to 1499 for fear of Tartar invasion. It's a circle whose internal diameter is 24.4 metre, and the thickness of walls made from brick is over three metres. It is a Gothic building with seven turrets and artillery loop-holes in the lower part for striking the enemy soldiers from the flanks.
