The first Roman temple on the Wawel Hill was built in 11th century. In 1320 they started to build the third cathedral in the same place (two first had been destroyed by enemies and fires; only parts of the second remained). Now it is mixture of Gothic and Renessaince style. Inside a few altairs, tombs and graves of historical kings, poets and rulers. It has three towers and many small chapels founded in the past by Polish bishops and aristocracy.

Entrance to the temple is free, but you will pay 8 zloties (~1,7 euro) for visiting the Sigmunt's tower and tombs of kings at the underground (what I strongly recommend you).
