In typical Santa Cruz fashion, the Saturn Cafe tries to bend the rules on being overly eccentric while eating at the same time. Open twenty-four hours each day, this veggie restaurant serves great food that even the non-veggie like myself really like. Also, the atmosphere in the place is worth the visit, where emo and punk rock waiters serve you, surrounded by old movie, music and political posters.

For me, the Saturn Cafe embodies what Santa Cruz is: funky, cool, non-comformist, a little rough around the edges, but still very interesting. Plus the food's great.

Favorite Dish: The burger's here are great, going for around $5.95, as well as the chilli fries, which are around $5.50.
