Our View at the Makai Inn
by whitneyone

Haven't we all at some point PROMISED ourself that we would live in a little place by the sea for just one summer of our life? This is that place. Maybe you can't do it all summer, but a week would be great too, right?
450 square feet with a full kitchen, stunning views from the four front rooms and the surf pounding just feet from where you sleep, sleeps two. I don't know if they allow more than two per room.
All that and totally affordable. And only a 2 minute drive to the heart of old Lahaina

Unique Qualities: The Makai Inn is an apartment building converted for your ocean-loving pleasure.
No phone, no TV, no air (only functional ceiling fans in living and bed room) no maid service, no pool, no beach (although you are right on the ocean and there is a sun deck) no probem for your pocket book.
Please don't ask for discounts, this is a small place owned by a single family. Do ask for a 'weekly rate" if you plan on staying that long. Rooms start at 75 dollars a night, with the front units about 120, I think. I highly urge the front rooms if you can afford it.
You can stock up on the food necessities at the grocery store. Cook as you please, sleep as long as you'd like, as NO ONE will wake you up to clean your room. This is a do it yourself vacation. They supply towels and soap and kitchenware and a spectacular view. The rest is up to you
